Ever since Kahwa Coffee first opened its doors in sunny St. Petersburg, Florida, back in 2006, we’ve been reaching out to give back to the community we love—because we know that what goes around, comes around, just like the great coffee-roasting wheel turns.
We value these local connections, and love supporting our community nonprofits in all different ways. Over the years, we’ve donated time, sponsorships, and products to countless Bay area events and organizations. Whether supporting a sports team, local school, or food bank, it’s in our Kahwa Coffee mission to do as much as we can.
On National Coffee Day this fall, Kahwa gave back 100 percent of the day’s proceeds from coffee and tea drink sales, raising more than $10,000 in total donations for three partnering Tampa Bay area organizations:
Where Love Grows – Serving up family dinner nights, mobile cooking classes, and an average of 300 meals per month at the Hillsborough County Boys and Girls Clubs, and other venues that support the needs of local children.
Blessings in a Backpack – Providing Pinellas County children with a backpack of food to take home for 38 weekends during the school year.
All Faiths Food Bank – An essential resource that is the only food bank serving Sarasota County residents in food-insecure communities.
What a pleasure it was for us to be able to support these great organizations across the tri-county area. And we know that little moments are just as important as large donations. That’s why earlier this season we gave out free skate vouchers for Winter Village at Tampa’s Curtis Hixon Park, so that more people can have a little quality fun time with friends and family. Isn’t that what the season is all about?
We will never stop striving to make a difference in our communities. Do you have an event or program that could use support from Kahwa? Fill out this form to let us know more about it! Let’s do something good together.
