Espresso Brewing
Espresso brewing forces pressurized hot water through finely ground coffee beans to shorten your brew time and produce a concentrated, full-bodied beverage. Emulsified oils in the resulting demitasse serving lend espresso both depth and sweetness.
To yield a standard 2-ounce shot, grind between 7-8 grams (or one heaping tablespoon) of coffee into your basket and tamp to compact. The ideal grind texture is similar to that of powdered sugar. Using filtered water is highly recommended both for taste, and for the health of your machine.
Special blends and single origin beans can provide a balanced taste profile with rich golden crema on top. We recommend brewing espresso with our Mistral, Cubano, or Boreas varieties.
