Tampa Bay, FL-
Kahwa has just released their second specialty roast of 2024 and it is one that you don't want to miss out on!
A bright, medium bodied roast containing tart notes of cranberry and a sparkle of lime at the front with a smooth chocolate finish. This single origin roast comes from the Nyamasasa Washing station located on the shores of Lake Kivu in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The beans are fully washed at the farms own washing station, where farmers deliver fresh cherries right after being hand-picked. It is then processed and dried at the wet mill level and is then sent to the Jumbo Safari dry mill in Goma to be sorted and prepared for export.
The group of farmers who deliver cherry to the Nyamasasa washing station is around 1,930 farmers who on average each grows 1/3 hectare of coffee. Many farmers live in different communities that were divided by the civil war; however, these dedicated farmers made the choice to combine their strengths in order to build a great future for their communities and they work hard every day to produce high quality coffee.
While this roast is delicious however you may brew it, the R&D team recommends you have it as a cold brew to highlight all the flavors. The recipe for this is 100 grams of coffee to 400 grams of water and then dilute the concentrate 1:1 when crafting this delightful beverage.
