Tampa Bay, FL-
Kahwa has just released the fourth artist canister in the series of coffee cans in collaboration with the St. Pete Arts Alliance. All of the proceeds from the canisters go towards the St. Pete Art Endowment.
The previous three canisters featured art from renowned St. Pete artist Chad Mize, contemporary artist Glenyse Thompson, and the multi-faceted Frederick “Rootman” Woods. The newest canister features work from Carrie Jadus.
A lifelong Tampa Bay area native, Carrie Jadus is a versatile and accomplished artist who works primarily in oils. Best known for her figural and landscape paintings that range between realism and impressionism, Jadus is also recognized for her local murals “Awakening Bodhisattva” next to St. Pete’s Dog Bar, and “Last Call” at the Grand Central Brewhouse, among others. In recent years Jadus has also expanded into designing and collaborating on a number of large-scale sculptural works. She maintains a studio at Soft Water Gallery in the Warehouse Arts District, St. Petersburg
When it comes to her art as a whole, this is how she describes it,
“A painting is an account of life, a narrative. It embodies the slow heat rising off the pavements, the watery reflections of the universe, and the shaky essence of a soul. As an artist I manifest these truths in my art, and I aim to ignite the imagination of others with the reflections of the physical world.”
